Our group consists of Adam, Victor and Sophie. We have chosen to use Victor’s idea as it was extremely simple yet effective and is frightening as it ends leaving the audience at a cliffhanger.
The opening sequence will begin with an establishing shot of a forest.
The camera would then drop down into the woods and we would be able to see the names of the cast, producer and director carved into the trees.
It would begin with the camera man running with the camera filming the actress, about the age of 18; this would give the impression that she is being chased.
He will begin to slow down because he is bleeding from his stomach.
He eventually falls to her knees and then onto her back.
He will be filmed from a high angle, as this will make her appear inferior as He looks up and sees a shadow standing over her holding a knife.
The audience is unable to see who it is.
There is a P.OV shot from the boy and we see that the figure is in fact himself.
This asks the audience to decide whether it is the boy's imagination.
He dies and the film cuts.
There will be a slash through the black and we will see the title of the film back lit through smoke.
We decided to film it in the forest near our school because it is easy, inexpensive and doesn’t require permission or traveling.
The forest will create an eerie and mysterious atmosphere if we film and light it correctly.
The shot angles we have chosen will manipulate the picture and will always make the girl look inferior and helpless.
It will also create an atmosphere of terror and chaos which will hopefully make the audience feel panic and fear.
We decided that we would probably film with a company like Artisan
Entertainment as in 1999's they made The Blair Witch Project. It had a small budget of $22,000 but made $248 million worldwide. It had the highest ratio of box office sales to production cost in American film making history.
It is also extremely similar to Victor’s idea; therefore if we promoted the film correctly, it would be very successful and make a profit.
